Anyone live in Leicester?

Hi All,

Me and the Mrs are saving for a house and are thinking about moving out of London. We have family in Nottingham and Luton, however dont want to live in either cities.

We were thinking about Leicester. Been there a few times and not too far from Nottingham.

Anyone recommend a nice and quite area of Leicester to live? Our budget will be around 150k for a 3 bedroom house.

Any help will be appreciated.

I live outside of Leicester (12 miles) so cannot advise about the City itself for living. However, there are some lovely towns/villages surrounding Leicester that are too many to list. It is a great part of the UK to live with rolling countryside, affordable housing and great communication links

I live just North of Leicester in a village called Mountsorrel. It's close to all the major routes and the houses are reasonably priced. I like living here a lot plus it's close the all the nicer villages (read over inflated house prices) with lots of great pubs and lots of countryside.
On the south of Leicester I like Lutterworth and Market Harborough. I've never lived there but imagine I easily could.
