« on: January 19, 2015, 05:43:04 pm »
Just bought a nice edition 30 with 50k one lady owner clutch seems all good but was thinking of getting a remap and getting a custom one so they can limit the torque to save the clutch had a bluefin remap on my audi s3 ep and did not take long to kill it lol any advice would be helpful cheers.

Save up for a clutch and have a linear map with linear trottle and when it slips put the clutch in it'll slip eventually

We have tried a system that scans what you type in the title and shows you posts related to what you're typing. So far it's not working too well, but it's somewhere towards what you're suggesting. :happy2:

My other bit of advice is to get a custom remap from a reputable place near you, be it R-Tech or AMD Tuning or whoever. That way if you get problems or aren't happy then you can take just a short drive back to get things sorted.

I have an AMD Tuning map (which I love and has been faultless), with a reported 35% extra torque than factory figures and my clutch has held up fine so far over the past year so I wouldn't worry about it too much truth be told. You'll wear it out faster yes, but only if you drive hard all day every day.

I agree but for some reason if you got a opinion on this site u get ridiculed!

I wouldn't say ridiculed, just a lot of people who are quick to praise R-Tech (for good reason).

I would love to be a moderator, but I'd quickly turn into a Nazi and ban everyone that replies "R-Tech" to every remap question, "BCS" to every exhaust question and anyone who disagreed with me. :signLOL:

Back to the subject matter... Revo is another good idea as you can customise the settings at your own leisure via an SPS box (EDIT: link below, I stopped being lazy). A good way for you to run multiple power levels so for every day use you can tone it down, but when the road is quiet at a weekend, ramp it up. That way you can have a clutch friendly map (or even run stock!) and then a not-so-clutch friendly map at time that suit.
