Intake
« on: January 24, 2015, 06:24:58 pm »
Hi all,

Sorry if I'm asking a question that been asked a million times, but..

Been toying with the idea of getting an intake (been looking at forge Twintake mostly) just for a bit more tasteful noise and performance increase.

My car is a stock GTI and I was looking at some reports of the fuel air mix not being quite right with the additional airflow and causing issues? Is this likely to be an issue in my case?

Thanks!  :happy2:

I've had the Twintake and now have the cam coated Revo intake and you should buy the Revo, it sounds better and is more responsive.

In regards to fuel air mix being wrong your ECU will adjust after 50 or so miles and you won't have any problems. However I would suggest a remap to get the best out of it.

No issues with fuel & air mix from what I've read. . .

MAF sensor scaling is ok with the Twintake too (EVOMS is closest to OEM MAF though out of all the intakes).

If you run a turbo back exhaust and stage 2 Revo or Superchips (maybe even APR Maps?) with an intake you can find your fuel pump can't supply enough fuel, sometimes causing fuel cuts.

Stick with stage 1 and you will be fine  :happy2:

Yeah I can +1 on the twin take. It sounds and looks great. I also haven't had any issues or warning lights in the 25k+ miles I've done with mine on. (Running stock map).
