FYI - That car would of 100% failed the MOT. Did that car have a new MOT for the sale? I would advise them that if they are not willing to help you then you are sure VOSA would love to hear that they sold a car with a new MOT that will clearly not pass VOSA standards. Im sure the dailymail would love to know too :)

I've been though this when I bought my audi tt and got 600 back for a faulty abs pump, the hid the abs light with tape  :surprised:

Vosa doesn't do f all and only gives the MOT station a strike/points off and if those ointment build up then only will the company lose its licence for a while

 thanks

Received this as they are not wiling to give a full refund.

basically hey want me to go all the way back to their garage and waste my time when I don't have the time to do this.
I told their solicitor to get them to collect the car but they aren't interested.

Dear Sir

We refer to your letter dated 2 February.

Our letter of the 29 January was clear enough.

If you require our client to consider your claim the vehicle  must be returned to it for inspection purposes.

Our client may offer repair, if appropriate.

It is a matter for you whether or not you choose to accept any such offer.

You will understand that it is not for us to advise you.

Once again, may we respectfully suggest that you contact our client soonest to arrange return of the vehicle for inspection purposes.

If you are not prepared to comply with such request then with regret there is nothing more that can be done to assist.

Should you have any doubt as to the nature and effect of this request then you may wish to seek independent legal advice.

We await your considered response.

Yours faithfully

This is a horrible situation to be in. I bought a Peugeot from a dealer up north (2 hours away) and had endless problems with it. Even had to have a new engine! You have to give them a chance to fix it even though all you want is your money back and drive the car through their showroom window! I frustratingly took the hit and part exchanged it in the end!

You do need to take it back to them. You don't need to accept their offer to fix it.
You should have your own list of fault with photos to back this up or alternatively pay for an independent inspection (eg AA).
The longer you delay then they may claim faults occurred after you bought it.

I'd love to but the law will have me lol thanks and sorry to learn of your misfortune  :surprised:

Cheers mate, I'm just waiting of a final response and if not then dump the car there and take the small claims as I have waited too long for their replies and because of what the Citizens Advice told me to do.

It's worth doing tho if it's your last option.
Make sure you put the cost of the claim on there aswell.

Have you sent them a letter before action? When I done it I told the I'd be claiming for the court fees aswell as the cost of the car.
