Rear break plate Help?
« on: January 26, 2015, 11:55:03 am »
The plate that sits behind the brake disc (not sure what it's called) is loose and making a loud rattle noise. Cant see where it attaches to make it tight, any ideas?

please see image of plate behind brake disc

Think its called a dust shield. Held in by 3 torx screws. The shield normally rots around the screws and then comes loose.
Need to remove Caliper to get to them. The shield then needs to be cut to remove it over the hub.
Google or search  and you find pics.

It's also there to help keep the disc as dry as possible for better braking in wet conditions, if you can make that one work or get a cheap one then its worth keeping but not really that import and if you CBA.
