« on: January 26, 2015, 07:25:12 pm »
Strange one for you all, my misses has a 1.9TDI sport. I enabled the alarm beep when the car locks, but sometimes it does not beep for a couple of days than randomaly beeps again :signLOL:

Scan it with vcds. Seems like alarm horn on its way out.  Common on mk5's

Try setting the alarm off and see what the siren sounds like, as it's the same siren that 'beeps' when you lock/unlock the car. My mate done this and his sounded very crackly..

Lock the car with the fob, wait 30 seconds, then open the car with the key in the drivers door lock, then open the door.. this should set the alarm off  :happy2:

After about 30 seconds it will go off.

Are you not able to set the alarm off with output tests in VCDS? Im sure I have before. But can't be 100% sure  :stupid:

The alarm output test just makes it 'beep' like when you set it to chirp upon lock/unlock.. a little disappointing for an output test  :sad1:

leave the window open, lock the car. wait around 30 seconds and then wave your arms inside the car and see if the alarm works. Keep an eye on your indicators as they will flash as well
