Paint pens
« on: January 26, 2015, 09:31:01 pm »
Anyone have any experience with paint pens or similar products for repairing stone chips / slighter bigger areas?

I know there is loads out there to choose from so I'm looking for someone who can reccomend one that was a good colour match for tornado red as I plan to do a few areas on mine and I know some kits have a better colour match than others. If you have before, during and after pictures if possible too.

Thanks,
Carl.

Here is a pic. I've done above the GTI badge across to where the white speckles start again.

That looks great, am I right in thinking the left side is the one you've done and the right side hasn't be done on this picture?

Yes mate done the left side only. Close up you can see pitting where the chips were. IMO this is better than the alternative having a massive blob of touch up paint.

Detailers suggest you use touch up paint, sand using 1500 (etc), compound then wax and it will look very like it has been painted new!
