well its the end of the roccy road as it needs to make way for its replacement which arrives in the new year and the car will be going back to standard in a few weeks time  :sad1:

latest additions were VWR ARBs and tope and gearbox engine mounts and have to say as a fast road car (always its intention) it was sublime on a trip to france in the summer so a few pics of what it become

it's replacement is a 3 door carbon grey Edition 35  :happy2:

Looking very tidy in those pics Andy. :happy2:
Look forward to seeing its replacement, have you opted for the 19's?

cheers mark, car has always been a genuine daily driver and has clocked up 57k

Ed35 is coming on stock 18s in dark steel finish as not a fan of the 19s, in reality a set of tds will be getting slapped on  :happy2:

The one I saw at the DTM @ Brands had the 19's on and they looked stoopid with the piddly brakes. Nice car though, I really liked the candy apple red

Well bearing in mind you were getting itchy feet with the Rocco after a few months she has lasted well!

Can't wait to see the new one fella, very jealous!  :happy2:

i thought after 2 years and 11 months this thread was due an update

my wife sold the Pirelli exactly 6 years to the day she picked it up

what an amazing car and will be missed just for what it was, used as a daily it racked up 85,000 miles, hardly any warranty work and only an upgraded clutch and replacement low pressure fuel pump and so much more of a car than the scirocco

it still felt special and remained fun to drive and i have had a huge grin trying and failing to keep up with the R whilst driving this

it won't be appearing on forums and i do have the first refusal on this to buy it back as we just didn't have the space to keep it, it is being replaced by a second R, this time night blue more door on 18s with dsg and a few bits

i will leave you with the parting shots after Detail My Ride gave it a makeover

Lovely car.

Saw one a while ago in a hospital car park, same colour as yours. It was evidently well used and non-enthusiast owned. Alloys massively curbed and paint shockingly scratched. Still caught my eye though!

Looks like it's done at least half the miles you mention!
Lovely car - I tried one absolutely identical to yours before my ED30. Liked the Pirelli a lot more in person than in pictures, and the rarity factor is pretty cool. Think I have only ever seen one Pirelli on the road.
Just another Golf to everyone else, eh...?!
Do you reckon Pirelli's will keep their value more than any other mk5?
