Ipod connectivity issue

hi people. Why has my car got an Ipod connection in the glove box but there is no way of actually selecting the device? Confused.com. Anyone else have this?

It feels like im really missing something but I have been through the menu etc and there is no "AUX" or "IPOD" on my stereo. Ill try taking some pictures of my current system.

Depends on your HU but have you tried pressing CD twice? Thats how I select the iPod dock in my Golf.

Pics will be helpful, it could be the HU has been upgraded and made the old ipod connection redundant, or it could be disconnected.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Yeh it is either RCD300 or RCD500 (multichanger)

Hi so i tried to press the CD button twice and nothing. Might have to pull the unit out now.
