Rear valance - GT TDi 170
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:58:59 pm »
Evening all

I've recently bought a 2007 GT TDi 170, the arse-end of which currently looks like this (not my car - but same bumper):

I was going to get it (including the mud flaps) colour coded, but the more I think about it, the more I fancy something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/REAR-VALANCE-Volkswagen-GOLF-exhaust/dp/B0086VKT0Q#productDetails

Would this rear valance fit over the GT TDi exhausts, or are they positioned slightly differently?

And does this particular item look decent for the money? Am I better looking elsewhere?

Cheers,
Ad.

These are all designed to fit around your exhaust, no problems.

In terms of quality and fit......?? They are never as good as the originals some are good some pretty awfull. Do a little search on here there are posts about which ones ppl have purchased.

Personally I would go for second hand genuine over new copy.

Definitely don't try and colour code the mud flaps.

What he said! :scared:

I got one from this ebay store: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261346495307

Cheaper and with good enough quality. OEM quality is better but much more expensive in this case. You can see pictures of it fitted and colour coded in my project.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice.

I've had a good look into this and can't find a single OEM R32 rear valance for sale (new or second hand) - so I'm guessing when they do crop up they ain't cheap.

A fair few people have mentioned a similar item from PPCGB, but their website is down... are these guys still trading?

It now looks like I'll be in the market for a front bumper too... seeing as I slid into the side of a bus this morning in the snow  :sad1:

I have an R32 Rear bottom part for sale. Non-original, unpainted and has the exhaust exits in the GTi/TDi placement. PM me for info as it'll go on Ebay soon.
