Milltek Time

--- Quote from: Hedge on December 18, 2008, 11:01:57 pm ---I am considering a Milltek as I had one on my Octy vRS briefly but first a couple of questions.
On a cat-back system would resonated be noticably quieter than standard and on the flip side to that with a standard cat would a non-res be significantly louder?
I quite like the standard Edition 30 exhaust but feel it could be a touch crisper at times.

From what I have been told about the res it will as quiet as the stock system (if not a little quieter from some reports) at idle and low revs/load and a bit louder at full load. Where as I am finding the non-res a little louder at idle/low load and much louder when pushing on but not too much.
The company that fitted mine recommended the res to start with but after they test drove mine even they agreed non-res was the right choice :happy2:

non resonated all the way :drinking:

I was meant to have the resonated fitted on mine when I had the full sytem including the down pipe done.
Though the noise is certianly alot louder than stock in all situations.
So either I was 'had' by the chap who fitted as I know the resonated is more expensive, or the combo of resonated and sports down pipe makes it alot noisier than stock.
any way of checking whether you have res or non fitted?
candy turbo:
this is just my opinion but turbo back best is resonated , cat back best is non resonated :happy2: you can easily tell which you got cause the box in front of the rear wheel on a non res wont be their !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :happy2:
