Turbo Loss / Spluttering Exhaust

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone on here will be able to help me with an intermittent issue that I have.

I'm experiencing an issue with my Golf TDI MK5 - 99000 miles. Every 150 - 200 miles, the car goes into a state where there is a significant loss of power and the turbo does not engage until around 3500rpm (normally just over 2000rpm). When the car is stationary and in this state, there is sputtering coming from the exhaust and you can feel the car vibrating. This state only seems to last for about 10 - 15 minutes and then won't happen again for another 150 miles or so. I think this may be DPF related and that the filter may be blocked or need replacing. When this happens there are no warning lights on the dashboard.

Have you seen these symptoms before and are you able to advise a possible solution? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
