What mods to get ? What power to expect?
« on: February 01, 2015, 05:55:20 pm »
So I have an Edition 30 and currently have a scorpion decat downpipe and I will have a BCS catback joined up to that this saturday coming. I am then looking at getting a ITG cai, I have also replaced the DV for a new rev G. Now with these mods what power would I potentially be looking at, also I will be going to R-Tech.

Now I was also thinking of a HPFP but I do not know whether or not it is worth the extra cash
Any advice would be great thanks  :happy2:

Are you manual or DSG?

HPFP is worth it because it gives lots of extra torque and brings it in much earlier. Add a decent intercooler as well of you're doing a HPFP as the std will really struggle to keep cool and you'll lose power especially on warmer days.

If you're manual then with what you have the clutch should be OK but there is still a chance of it slipping (if not immediately then soon). If you so the HPFP you'll definitely need a new clutch.

If you're dsg then you'll be fine, but you should get the dsg mapped as well  :happy2:

Yeah forgot to mention I am DSG so the clutch wont be a issue and yeah I will be getting a dsg map also.
Would the s3 intercooler be a benefit ?

HPFP makes all the difference mate. Unlocks massive mid range power with it upgraded

Do that over an intercooler
NOW: 2015 Golf R DSG 5 Door, Lapiz Blue, 19s, Discover Nav, Reversing Camera
GONE:2007 Black GTI Edition 30 3dr

S3 Would be good but if your already to the effort of doing it then a THS or Peron would be better and are only £200 - £300 more which isn't much considering what you're already spending.

Think I may go for the HPFP over the intercooler then. Does anyone know anywhere that fit autotech internals?
