OEM Led Number plate lights question
« on: February 23, 2016, 11:04:05 pm »
Currently I'm running these number plate LEDs (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/161819751454?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT), but finding them a too bright for my taste so hoping to change.

Looking to purchase these OEM LED number plate lights instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271497461648?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. Seem more subtle. Aware these will throw bulb-out errors, so looking to get resistors to match rather than resort to VCDS.

My current set of LEDs came with resistors, so could I use those resistors instead of purchasing something separate? I'm not the best on the topic of electronics, so unsure if different LEDs might require different resistors (guessing this could be related to number of LEDs in each).

Yep confirm no errors on the OEM ones, the only thing on vcds is to turn off cold diagnosis to stop them flickering when car runs bulb check after turning on ignition
