How about 235 40s on 18" x 8 CHs?  They're ET 51 I think

No probs.. I ran ET45 with my 235 R888's which are actually 245mm wide..

Thanks for the advice...i think i'll go with the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics in 235/35/19......the only drama is now getting a set. I've been quoted $2400 in Perth (about 1200 quid!). I'm going to try Tirerack in the US as I reckon I can get them shipped over for half the price.

Camskill in the Uk ship to me when im in germany, they may also ship to you.  They are cheap so maybe even after carriage you'll be saving some cash??

I'm in Perth too - Id like to check these out in the metal when they arrive!

Wheels have just arrived and look great...just getting the funds together for the tryes so will be earlier January before they hit the streets...will post some pics then!

as mat says, on my way home with the demo while my clutch was being done (remember my lad at the pod)
thought id be ok just slowing down, but not enough, 3pts and a fine.
