engine warning light coming on
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:58:30 pm »
Hi, i have the engine warning light coming on the dashboard of my ed30.  Seems to be when i use super unleaded, I have tried this a few times alternating between regular and super unleaded and the light comes on for the tank of super and goes off again for the week with regular.

Anyone else had anything similar?

thanks

Best thing to do is have a look in the Vagcom section see if there's anyone local to you with a vcds cable and get it plugged in for faults.

Usually they'll do it for beer money.

You should be using a higher grade of fuel anyway and not regular unleaded. perhaps this is part of the issue?

lots of people on the forum swear by Shell VPower , that's all I've ever used.

But as Andy says, get it scanned asap

Could be very much the fuel sensor issue hence why the light pops up

Plug in and all will be revealed  :happy2:

Cant see why the fuel grade would be making light come on! Very strange one that  :surprised:
As for 95,97,99 ron fuels the tfsi engine was built to run safely on 95 ron so regardless of slight performance gains etc from the higher octanes it should run fine on all grades!

Cheers I'll get it scanned.

Is the fuel sensor issue a common fault?

Interesting topic. I emailed a tuner this week asking about remaps and they said the car should run on high octane fuel at all times.

I've always run mine on regular Ron.
