CD player ( No Sound )
« on: February 07, 2015, 09:45:43 pm »
Got the car today. The radio was working spot on. Picked up my brother to show him. He got in and started messing around with the standard CD player. Everything working :-)
Turned the car off, got back in it tonight to take the misses out for food, CD player / radio turns on great, everything working apart from the noise! I don't have any sound at all coming out the speakers. Get te volume going up and down, the radio stations changing but still no sound at all.

Any help people?

Update people. Had it working yesterday and today. Just come to get in the car now, CD player won't turn on and speakers making a boom noise every 2 seconds or so, then the CD player will light up red and go off for around another 5 'boom' noises and then flash again. The car is now turned off and locked and the speakers are still making this noise.

The best description of the noise sounds like when a subwoofer kicks in / turns off

 :fighting2:

Had the CD player out tonight. Followed the wire that was 'dodgy' wired to an fuse. Worked out that the person before me must have had a flip out DVD player or something so to make it work while driving they wired it up to the fuse. So I have taken the wire out and put the fuse back in place. The CD player now starts up and should be making a noise but still nothing .... Sometimes... Other times I get sound. I got a feeling that the CD player might be abit iffy. So looks like I'll be upgrading to a different stereo
