Battery issues after installing hids
« on: February 09, 2015, 06:26:43 pm »
So recently i installed depo projector headlights along with a 35W hid kit. The car starts up fine 95% of the time but on two occasions it has struggles to start and took about a good 5 mins before it eventually started. On the first occasion it happened i changed the battery thinking it was gone but it just happened again with a fresh battery. My friend is experiencing the same problems  I haven't done any coding on vagcom. Any ideas?

I recently installed Depo projectors with a HID kit also, however I coded the car to have Xenons without shutters via VCDS and haven't had any issues with the battery so you may want to code that in if you can. Do you have auto lights? If so you may want to try switching them to the off position before starting and also disable leaving home lights if they are enabled see if that helps.

Yep i've just disabled them right now...car doesn't look right without it though  :sad1:

And im going to code the xenons without shutters sometime this week. Hopefully it fixes it  :fighting:

I agree doesn't look right. I've even disabled my coming home lights too at the moment which I may have to re-enable as I miss those a bit.

Hopefully coding the xenons will sort it  :happy2:
