Marky N - VW Golf MKV GTi
« on: February 09, 2015, 07:08:17 pm »

Picked up the Golf GTi. Sad day to see the BMW being put to once side for sale but happy to be able to get myself finally into a GTi after looking for a good one for around 2 years.
Here's a picture that had been taken from the sales advert on AutoTrader
2005 VW Golf GTi 2.0 DSG

For now it's completely standard but am sure some slight modifications will be happening soon. Just a quick picture after the CLB Candy SnowFoam has finished its job.

The mileage is just above 70k. Full service history. Got the DSG box serviced before I bought it from them too. Also had a PDI check on it before they sold it to me. Found a rear caliper was abit iffy so they changed that for me too. Really impressed with the car to be honest mate. Solid car throughout. Think am gonna be keeping it for a fair few years seeming I will rarely drive it. I work in a quarry so I got a pickup to get me to work and back.  :happy2:

At the moment its staying standard. If any modding goes on it won't be for a while, also it will be just OEM+ styling I think

My AutoSmart Silver Seal kit got delivered today. Nice to know people in the right places. DISCOUNT PRICES

So up to now I have been able to do the complete interior. All cloth seats, seat belts, floor. I have left the car mats at the moment, there is slight wear on them so am waiting to find some new ones, get them ordered and I'll finish off the sealing on the interior then

Rear wiper delete today. I was going to get the glass insert but am abit unsure on it at the moment, I think I need to see one in the flesh done. For now I have got myself a plastic cover (26mm) and inserted that at the moment. Up to now, I think it's making the rear end of the car a lot more smooth looking. Think this might grow on me.

Sorry about the dirty picture  :surprised:

A better picture after the rear wiper delete. Also had chance to give the car a quick polish tonight, still a lot of swirl marks but getting the machine on it the weekend! Also amazing what a abit of plastic bumper care can do. From grey and tired looking to gloss black fresh looking!

Looks really well mate.

How does the Autosmart kit work exactly? Sounds like something I could be interested in!

You get a spray can for the cloth interior. Just spray that on as a mist, cover all places that you would want to be protected. Also makes it water resistant. Came in handy today when I split a drink down myself and onto the front seats!  :surprised: but just beaded on the seat and I was able to just wipe up with a cloth easy. No stains left.

The wash you get with it is best used after a full on wash of the exterior, then you get another aerosol can after the full wash. Spray on as a mist on each panel, rub on with the sponge provided and buff off with a microfibre cloth. Once done only wash the car with the wash liquid that is provided. Leaves the body work like glass and extremely protected.

My rear badge had bad white worm appearing so sorted myself a MK4 Golf badge from my brothers 2.8 V6 after him changing his for a smaller sharan one.
Managed to spray paint the mechanism the same colour as the car and fit the MK4 emblem. It's not a bad fitting either to be honest
