So since having the air-ride installed the golfs been on the back burner and I've surprisingly fallen out of love with it, despite giving it a thorough cleaning session over the bank holiday weekend.

I've secretly been looking at Mercedes A200 CDI Sports with the AMG kit on which have taken my fancy at the min but as the golfs ticked over 175k now it makes sense for me to just keep running it as it is worth far more to me than anyone else. (Nothing wrong with how its running, in fact its spot on!)

It needs MOTing at the end of the month and then taxing so will get them both done and hopefully my love for it will be back by then.

I've decided to not bother fitting the R32 rear so that will be up for sale soon. After looking at many I would now rather keep it how it is for now though could be tempted to fit a ED30 front splitter and some new front wings.

12 months MOT with no advisories  :drinking:

Will get the 5-spokes refurbed soon and on for the winter months. Looking forward to seeing how they look when it's aired out!

Decided I'm going to keep the Helio's. Will have to refurb 2 of them and re-tyre them for next year but will get the wings and ED30 splitter sorted at the same time and try to get it down to Ultimate Dubs in March.

Realised I hadn't put my favourite photo of it on my thread..

Always loved Helios on mk5. Best wheels for it for me. Unfortunately never got the opportunity to have them on my GTI before I sold it. Wouldn't suit the current car

Hit a pheasant on the way to work yesterday, damage wasn't too bad but will definitely need a new grill.

Been looking at this: http://www.urotuning.com/Mk5-Euro-Golf-GT-Style-Wolfsburg-Front-Grill-p/1K5853597.html

And these fog inserts: http://www.urotuning.com/Mk5-Euro-Golf-GT-Bumper-Grill-Set-w-o-fog-holes-p/1K0853666Q9B9-5AB9B9.html

Sourced a very good condition complete front bumper and grills from another GT TDI last night.

Going to drop it all off at the body shop and have the inserts and plate plinth removed and smoothed. Then at the end of March when I'm away leave the car with them to fit and sort wings etc.

Might even shave the roof aerial as it isn't connected to anything and get the roof wrapped

Recently ticked over 185k and still going strong

It went in for a service and oil change last week where a coolant leak was found so having a new pipe and tank fitted shortly.

Bought a new scuttle panel (complete with seal and foam inserts) and windscreen trims from VW so will get them on as soon as I can along with the door warning lights I've had in my garage for ages.

I also bought (but yet to receive) a mod to convert my rear lights to skyline/veyron style with twindicators which should look really good.. fingers crossed!

Took it to 2 body shops for some prices, first one has a very good reputation but my god there prices were way too expensive. So hoping to keep the current arches and just get the lips rolled up. Need to order an ED30 splitter for when it goes in (end of this month) as when it comes out I think I may get it wrapped!!

Will try to update this more often as it's all been in dribs and drabs.

Really clean for the mileage. For the skyline light mod are you buying a kit to do it? If so do you have the link?

Thanks J
