81lly's Mk5 R32
« on: February 11, 2015, 08:29:15 pm »
I've had the R for a few weeks now and so I thought I'd make a build thread. This is my first R32 and I'm absolutely loving it so far.
Bought this off a friend who has looked after it well.

Few terrible iphone pics

I've not took any decent pics. I've got a few things on order and I'll be trying out Poorboys Black Hole on the weekend. I'll take some good pics then.

Mods on the car is the Milltek non res catback and Forge intake. The front grill and wheels have been sprayed black. There'll be a few more cosmetic changes in the near future.

Cleaning bits arrived last week. Only managed a wash on weekend and tried the valetpro citrus wash which is really good. Hopefully I'll get the chance to give Poorboys black hole a go this weekend.

Fitted Osram Cool Blue Intense bulbs along with CREE LED's. Also turned the indicators on as sidelights at 5%

Pic of the engine bay

I thought I needed a later revision can gateway for the MDI but I met up with Eddie-NL yesterday who fitted the MDI kit and made it work. The previous install was a mess really. He also fitted the door warning lights and coded my needles to stay lit all the time :) Don't have pics of these yet.

Much better than standard LED's, brighter and look better with the indicators on.

Any link to the CREE lights you bought? Did they fit well?

Also, the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense bulbs - any links to them as well? Do you find the light output much superior to the standard (and probably old) bulb?

Am thinking of getting some ordered. They seem to have good reviews from what I have heard

CREE lights are from EM Tuning. Mention my name (Billy) and he'll sort you out  :happy2:

CBI's are from here

Use the code on their site for 20% off.

I had the standard Philips bulbs in mine and these are far better.

Went down to VW to pick up genuine R mats

And here are the pics of the door warning lights

I've ordered LED's for the door warning lights which I should have by the weekend.
