I've had problems recently with my 2005 golf gti and the alarm keep on going off for no reason  Very frustrating ! I've had the drivers door lock module replaced last weekend because It was playing up on me and wouldn't unlock Genuine vw part
I don't think the alarm did this before I changed the module could it be a duff door lock module any help on my situation would be much appericated

Could just be coincidence but suggest you get a vcds scan done as your siren could be faulty.
Without traction power is nothing!

Had the same problem, was a dodgy door lock module that I replaced. Wasn't a genuine unit I used. Got progressively worse and alarm was going off every 5 mins and throwing on the interior lights while I was driving.

I had a simular alarm gremlin and it turned out to be the ignition micro switch. Scans showed up error in door module and rear boot switch which I replaced and alarm kept going off for no reason. In the end I replaced the ignition inner barrel with microswitch and good as gold. When driving can you hear clicking sounds every now and again coming from steering colum and maybe doors unlock themselfs when driving?

Inner ignition barrel has a micro switch to tell if the key in inserted or not. Mine was knackered and giving wrong signals to the ECU. Looks like my ignition barrel was "seeing" the key placed in and out when the alarm was set making it think an unauthorised key was in the ignition and setting alarm off. Do you here clicking from steering colum when driving?
If scan says battery disconnected it may be the alarms internal battery back up that's failed - about £85 for a new siren and battery from TPS

It may be coincidence that it's started happening now. I should have asked earlier - do you hear clicking noises from your steering colum when driving or do the doors unlock and then relock themselves when driving?

Was the door module you bought brand new? Sounds exactly like the problem I had, so would say it's a dodgy door lock module.
