well, I finally feel good enough to show off my MK5 on here. Seeing so many fantastic looking cars has made me want to get mine looking good enough to show off.

Looks good! Only thing I would change is the front number Plate!
How hard can it be?

thanks for the advice on the plate everyone, i was a bit unsure about it after doing it. where would people suggest to mount it? i don't want to cover over the smooth grill and don't want to totally block up the air intake to the radiator.

Maybe have it in the bottom grill? Get it cable tied on there? Can be easy and quick to remove for when at shows etc? Or maybe use really strong magnet for behind the bumper and behind the number plate, then place the plate in the original place, still be able to keep the smooth looking bumper then and easy removal of the plate

Fit really strong magnets protected by a smooth cloth to prevent scratches and put the plate in its original place. In the lower grill it blocks airflow to the IC and that decreases engine output. It has been tested by APR, at least.

You could fix the number plates with sucker pads, i have seen this on other smoothed bumpers.

awesome thanks for the suggestions. going to have a play around with it tomorrow, I've got another (long) pressed plate so can try a few options out.

Next thing is... would anyone recommend fitting a induction kit? I've heard mixed things about fitting them to diesel.. looking for a bit more noise as i think the engine sounds a little boring.

think i will wait until summer for the exhaust, its got the standard GT rear bumper so no opening for tail pipes. although i did have it painted to match so don't really want to go cutting into it to make an opening. but yes! exhaust is a better option.
