Bosch S5 007 died after only 2.5 years!!

Was disappointed this morning to find my Bosch S5 007 battery had given up on me. I only got it two and a half years ago. I bought a Bosch because I thought I would get reliability! Poor show! Fortunately I managed to borrow a charger and get to Eurocarparts, where they honoured the warranty and swapped it for a new battery. Anyone else had their Bosch die on them?

Atleast you kept the receipt  did you notice it dying over the previous few weeks or just died quickly?

Pretty sure I'm on my original battery, nearly 8 years on 

I'm playing a dangerous game, as I know they can go suddenly

Just went out of the blue. Has been fine, even through the recent cold weather.

Batteries can last for years and others a lot less. It depends how hard the battery is worked. Short runs with lots of use of the heated screen etc will put a strain on the cells and cause it to go dead. I would also check your alternator to make sure it is charging correctly.

Yeah, I know my driving style is not good for batteries, but its strange because my last one lasted for seven years before it got a bit weak. When they gave me a new battery they tested the old one and said there was no doubt that the battery was knackered, so hoping that's all it was.
