I'm new to the forum. Having just bought an 05 GTI with a few issues it appears that all roads lead to Rome in terms of knowledge base (here). I have an issue with my central locking whereby my drivers door will unlock but not lock with the remote key fob. I have found quite a bit of traffic on this subject although most seems to be where the drivers door will neither lock or unlock. I also found that some owners had resolved the problem by reconfiguring the locking preferences to single press (open all doors) using VCDS. I live in Tonbridge Kent and I'd be intrested to know if there is anyone in the Kent area with VCDS that may be willing to help me with this? Naturally I'd be happy to travel and provide payment.
