Imperial War museum visit

I plan to visit IWM in Londan and thought that i could get some help here in finding a hotel near by at a reasonable cost.
Plan is to fly over friday and then stay until sunday, we are looking at May or June.

Any recommendations is appreciated

Not exactly sure about cheap, but we stayed at the Apex Temple court hotel for a couple of nights and it was very good. Located near to st pauls cathedral and between 2 tube stations with very good links

There's a Days Hotel almost opposite (London Waterloo).  I've never stayed there, but it certainly looks cheap 

A 5-10 minute stroll away along the Cut (quirky vibe - also take a short detour along Lower Marsh) is the Travelodge, which I have used.  It's exactly like every other Travelodge, which is a good thing and a bad thing simultaneously.

The area's actually a great place to stay, if you like walking.  It's minutes away from Waterloo Bridge, which is the best view of London bar none - the Kinks were right.  Once across the bridge, you're pretty much in Covent Garden.

I've used that Days Inn, very close, it was certainly a decent stay last time I was there, but that was a few years ago

+1 for that.  It's the only museum in the world that got my kids as excited as my Dad.  But take the Northern line tube from Kennington.

We are still on for this, The RAF museum, that would be a one day excursion wouldn't it?
Plan is 3 days, 2 for the IWM and 1 extra for different things, might have to make it 4 dyas if the RAF museum takes a day :)

When you go to these museums try to get there about 15 minutes b4 opening time because of it's anything like the natural history or science museum anytime after that you'll be queuing for anything from 1 hour up to 5 hours to get in

I've just notice that there are several IWM, which should i visit?
We want to see tanks, planes and other hardware from WWII.

You might have been but..
Yeah the Imperial War Museum in London is the one to visit. Awesome place - recently refurbed!

If you get the chance head to London Bridge tube station (jubilee/northern line) HMS Belfast in moored up on the banks and you can go for a mooch - about £15 a ticket I think.

If you go to HMS Belfast make sure you go to Borough Market. It's literally across the road and is one of the biggest and oldest food markets in London. It is awesome - breadahead doughnuts are the best in the world!
