Headlight Aligning
« on: February 19, 2015, 03:40:14 pm »
Chaps,

Need some advise on this. I recently put on a set of Apex coilovers on my mk5 Gti and its sitting about 30mm lower than normal. I also have a set of genuine Xenon lights fitted to the car from factory and the car will be going in for its NCT/MOT test in the coming week.

My question to you guys is would my headlights need to be aligned after dropping the car? And if so can a normal garage do this or does it require vcds?

You'll need Vagcom to reset them, where in the country are you? There might be someone nearby who can help.

Had a feeling I would. I'm out in Dublin, Ireland. I hope the garage would have access to vagcom if I can't find anyone local

Hiya. Sorry to change the subject slighgly but are you in the UK? I'm looking to fit the R32 Zenon style lights to my GTI. I see lots of American GTI's with the Zenon but not UK???

He's in Dublin, it says just above

Xenons were an expensive option in the UK.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I may be stating the obvious but can't you just use the auto leveller switch next to the light switch..?!
