Keeping Halogen bulb in DEPO projectors
« on: February 18, 2015, 12:38:34 pm »
I know for the MOT you don't need washers or self leveling but in Ireland we have the NCT and have to have washers and self-leveling.

So my question is if I bought the DEPO projectors headlights fitted the xenon kit but on the day of test switched over to normal halogen bulbs would the alignment and output be good enough for a test?

Just read that some people said the output from the DEPO projector lights with standard halogens was awful, sounded to me it would fail a headlight test?

Thoughts? Cheers.

Hey, I toke my hid kit out of the depo projectors and the alignment was all wrong... Failed mot as "I had no beam pattern". A little bit of alligned to and it passed!

So yeah PPP halogen in but get an alignment done first or they might do it free of charge in the mot test.. Good luck!

I retrofitted Xenons shortly after so no didn't but you can roughly get yours done yourself. Basically make sure they don't blind people :)

As the depos are projectors and not actual xenons, then you shouldnt need self levellers and washers should you?

Well if there's a xenon kit inside the projectors you have to have washers and levellers here. I know for the MOT you don't but for NCT here you do. So thats why I was wondering how much the alignment would be out switching the bulbs out on the day of the test.
