Though I would post this for other users.

This kit is specifically for the MK5. Comes with single piece disks. 4pot calipers. SS lines.

I used to have the ST40 kit on my mk4 bora which were fantastic so I went for the same manufacturer. Also it was going to be a right chew on to make them kit when there is a BBK already. FYI the st40's are for sale

The kit says these would fit under 17" wheels which might be close but there was plenty of space under the standard 18" wheel.

Fitting was pretty easy although I did use a ramp. The worst part is splitting the union from the solid brake line but soaking this in WD40 made this easy to split.

Good instructions are provided with torque setting and pictures. I also put loctite on all nuts/bolts for piece of mind.

The whole job took about 2.5hours including bleeding.

Bed in procedure was easy too. I have still be taking it easy on them but they feel very strong from what I have tested.

See pics below for reference.

Hi , thinking about some brakes for my ED30. Could you tell me if have you needed any spacers or suchlike to make these go under the Pesky Pescaras, and does the spare go over this kit?

Also, what pads go with the kit, can they bought from anywhere?

Thanks  :happy2:

@nickg60

Not sure about the spare. Never gave that a though. I don't think so. Would probs have to put a back wheel on the front and the spare on the back.

Also the pads came with the kit. You can choose others if going on track but they seem amazing when I had to give a full test the other day on the motorway.

Do you have a link to the kit and how much it costs?
I guess it they will fit behind the standard 18inch monzas?

Also interested to know if these needed spacers.

no spacers required on 18". Plenty of space even for balancing weights on the front inside edge

Recently fitted same st41 kit to my Eddy, standard 18" Pescara. Hassan at Awesome v helpful.
No spacers needed. About 3-4 mill clearance on the face of caliper, to inner face of wheel. Tight, but all fine after 1500 miles and an MOT! More clearance on circumference, but could not really go bigger?
Quiet, no squealing at all, and no hum, even on mway.

Easy fit, good instructions, seems all good quality. Very well packed. Everything provided.

Calipers are 4 pot alloy, split type with a bridge piece bolted in over the pad aperture to stiffen up. Differential piston sizes, approx 36 & 44 mm.
Unfortunately i forgot to weigh, but the reduction in unsprung weight was readily apparent at the steering wheel! Calipers more than compensate for slightly bigger disc.
Brackets are alloy, with steel helicoil type inserts. Goodrich stainless hoses.
Discs 1 piece, vented, grooved in my case. 328 x 25. This was recommended by stoptech for fast road. Drilled also available.
Street Pads are those recommended by Stoptech. Style D608.

Got my system fully purged with VAGCOM on the ABS, after fitting.

Stopping power much improved, but i can only relate this to the standards fitted previously. I never got my used 996 kit rolling....
Stoptech Feels v adequate for my stg 2 on the road. Improves when warm.
Regret wasting my money on ebc red stuff pads and new oem discs 20k ago! They have lasted well tho, and can go back on when car sold.
Also regret wasting a lot of time, and more money on a used P 996 kit! Was never going to be a success with Pescara's.

Summary. Delighted. Only downside might be the lack of a Porsche badge!?! But then i can always borrow my brothers 911 targa???

Though I would post an update to these.

On Friday when I was looking over the car I came across x3 serious cracks in one of the disks which I was extremely shocked about. (See pic below of an example).

These have only been on for 4 weeks and have not had a chance to use them correctly. I'm glad I seen this when I did as things could have been a lot worse.

I've ordered slotted disks as replacements as there must be a fundamental fault with these style of drilled disks.

That's BAD.
This is why I only ever go for grooved/j hook discs - Drilled is for old men in Mercedes who make them think it's fasterer.

That's dreadful. As Jay said. Go for the slotted rotors, they should be much more resilient.

Have you spoken to awesome yet?

I had drilled on my ST40 kit for years with no problems. Definitely would not go for them again. TBH the performance difference is probably tiny.

I'm getting slotted replacements tomorrow. I have spoken with awesome but their answers are very poor and can't provide a solid answer about warranty timescales so I've had to pay for a replacement set then send these back to get refunded under warranty, also it turns out warranty does not extend to labour which I need to look into further.

Sh1t, that's not good at all!

Neither the cracked discs, nor the response from Awesome!

V disappointing; I wonder if they will explain why?

See above, i have grooved, as recommended.....

Hope you get sorted v soon.
