Cheers  :happy2:

I cannot for the life of me get the old one off the car, i undid all the torx screws etc and theres a tiny clip each side in the wheel arch and i think king kong would struggle to pull it out!

Given it a rest for now, will have a go another day

Quick update while work is slow..

So i got the splitter on, looks good and decent fitment.

Yet to get it painted so atm it looks abit weird as its black  :ashamed:

Also changed the window switches, mirror switch and headlight switch for some nice updated one as the old ones looked old.

will get a pic of the splitter at some point.  :driver:

car is due another was and polish but here is a pic of the splitter fitted before it gets painted.

All i ask now is for a hand in the paint... do i get the whole front splitter colour coded or do i leave the bottem lip part black and just pant the rest of the splitter?  :rolleye: i cant decide

nice splitter,

I think get the centre done gloss black, along with your grille slats, and colour code the bump strips!

Cheers :happy2:  Bump strips will be smoothed and painted at the same time the splitter is done. Gloss black grills is a good idea!!

I think golfman did it and it looked good. I always hated this front end until I joined the forum. Amazing what some paint and a splitter can do. And more lows!!

If you're smoothing the bump strips may as well go the full whack and do the number plate area aswell!

When I say smoothed I mean sanded so they aren't textured  Not sure what you mean about the number plate... I will give it a look. And I want it lower but at this time its just not practical, too many speed humps and un even roads near me. Maybe I will if I find some spare cash lying around but I'm also saving for my next car... Gti

Looking good dude!! I have got a 3dr in the same colour and with the same engine as yours so I'm looking forward to seeing what you do!!

Can I ask you, did the BMC air filter make much of a difference? I've been thinking of getting one for mine but not sure if it is worth it or not.

Can't wait to see the srs tec front splitter fitted, ive been looking at getting one of them too :)

Hello mate
You're not the only one with a 1.6 FSI as your first car on here!

Can't wait to see what the car looks like once all the rub strips and the valance is colour coded as I'm thinking to get it done too.

Miss having laser blue.  Progress coming nicely.  Have some petrol highline clusters available soon which might interest you?

BMC didn't really make much difference tbh but I've sold this car now and got a GTI  :driver: The best mod I did was change the back box to a Gti back box and it made the car sound really raspy then got a gti rear valence and colour coded it. I think those 2 mods made the most difference to the cars looks  :happy2:

Cheers guys, the car is now sold and I got myself a Gti a few months back in tornado red. I have a build thread for that too called Alex tornado red gti.

The front splitter looked good but I never got round to painting it and I also ended up getting a black plastic one from ebay as it would be more flexible that the srs one. Was cheaper too

Sorry to bump this up again. Just wondering if the back box you put on was a standard GTI one and was it a straight fit? Also do you have a link to the ebay ed30 splitter?

Thanks.
