Hello...Ed30 owner
« on: February 24, 2015, 09:18:26 pm »
Hello...again it seems. Registered here years ago when looking for a mk5, however ended up with an S4. Picked up an edition 30 3 weeks ago from the classifieds on here. At the moment it needs a few things changing - previous owners tastes and mine differ somewhat, although the mechanicals have been looked after without compromise and I could tell he was a petrolhead, it was obvious the car had been looked after.
07 plate ed30 number 646
DSG
Steel Grey
Convinience Pack
MFSW
Lux Pack
Carbonio Intake
Full Miltek
S3 Brakes
APS Map
BBS CH
Eibach Springs
Eibach ARB's

and probably some bits I cant remember.

Cosmetically the car had purple wheels - I've given them a quick once over in gloss black - but will put them back to a standard colour in due course. all the badges are black, but after trying to wash the aerosol off they had been rubbed down so needs new badges all round. Calipers are black, will do these red when wheels are being stripped for refurb. And window tints...jury still out on them!

Previous car was a 20vt Mk2...different car completely to the Mk5, but what a machine

Other VW's I've owned..

Mk4 R32

Mk3 Anni

Mk2 G60 Edition One

Welcome along!

That is one tasty mk5 you have there! I was looking for either a grey or black one but couldn't find a nice grey one unfortunately.

Yeah I've been quite lucky in owning some decent cars. Can add a Clio V6 and M3 CSL to the line up too over the years.

The Edition 30 is a good steer, think its helped by the Eibach set up. Ive a feeling the top mounts are on the way out as there is a feint clunking over speed bumps. The power delivery is good, not as brutal as the mk2 but a different car altogether. What I do like about it is that I can be in D just pootling about, and flick it into S, give it some beans and its away. Might get it over to awesome over the summer for stage 2 and DSG map, but wanting to get the cosmetics looking right first.
