Glad you got on well.
What was the actual process of the 6 o clock mod?
Also, is it critical to get them coded?
I'm new to this forum and have no access to the software, so don't see an easy solution.

Cheers

I didn't do the 6 o'clock mod, I thought I'd try and get away without doing it but it's really noticeable, so I need to find out how to do it and get it done haha :signLOL:
They will still work without being coded, however I think not having them coded can lead to your wiper motor burning out for some reason!
If you make a post on here, you will be able to find someone near you with a cable and they will sort it out for a small fee

The light output is insane though, really worth doing!

Still worried about doing this 6 oclock mod!!
If I was to get the car coded for xenons before I installed them would that cause any issues?
Really having trouble finding someone in London with VCDS who can help me.

Yeah I need to find out how to do it.. I saw someone post on here it took them literally 5 minutes though

I honestly have no idea, I would avoid it if possible though. Have you posted on here asking? Also if you use Instagram, search Grizzatrading and get an add posted on there, you will find someone within 30 mins guaranteed :happy2:

6 o'clock mod

1. Cheap dremmel off eBay - £10 - make sure it includes cutting discs
2. Use a pen/pencil/marker and mark lines to the opposite side to the tab side of the bulb holder. Mark the lines so you can cut a tab similar to the other side.
3. Use the dremmel to cut your markings..take some care here....the dremmels can cut through very easily..don't drop the bulb (obviously )
4. Put the bulb back into the projector upside down

DONE..! 5 minutes :happy2:

Cheers for that Philli, so the headlights stay on the car, it's just the bulb that needs to be removed and altered?

If so, fancy doing mine for me if I send you my bulbs and pay you £15?  :signLOL:

Hahaha looks like I'm getting a little business for Philli :signLOL:

Cheers Dan, useful picture! Question is.. how does this work with bulbs that have metal holders and not plastic?!

Ok thanks, I'll get it sorted, seems straight forward!
It would be great if the bulb holders came double sided out the factory haha

Ha...as tempting as this is I think you should do it.. it's that easy and you get the satisfaction of putting in the (not so) hard work!!

If ur local to Reading I'd do it.. Saves faffing with posting..buy a dremmel..you'll always need one...i need to use mine to do a tiny touch up on my alloys..lol

Haha I actually live about 30 minutes drive from Reading, but now that it's been explained, I know what to do
Thanks a lot, apprecoated!

Another thing regarding the lights, I read that starting the ignition with your lights on is bad for the ballasts, is this true? I have coming/leaving home lights so when it's dark, my lights are on before I start the car. Starting the car up causes them to go much brighter for a second, I guess a spike in power?

Cheers
