Help me buy an audi TT, about 4K
« on: March 07, 2015, 12:19:06 pm »
Looking to spend about £3.5/4K for mrs to poodle around town in, but I could give it the beans now & again
Thinking its best to avoid soft top and 4WD, less to go wrong??
Is there a facelift year in that price range?
What does s-line bring?
What year does steering wheel audio controls come in?
Is 1.8T 225bhp the one to go for?
What options should I look out for?

Mk1 TT - I'd go for the 3.2 v6 dsg. Second choice would be the 225 Quattro.

Look for xenons and Bose sound system.

...Mk1 TT - I'd go for the 3.2 v6 dsg...

What was the DSG like on the MK1 TT? Same running gear as the early 8P A3's with the 3.2 box?
Didn't even know the MK1 came with an early DSG box, just had to google it -  :ashamed: :ashamed: :ashamed: :ashamed: :chicken:

I believe all 225bhp versions were Quattro.
Don't know too much about them, but surely you'd rather have the 4wd 225bhp version over the 180bhp 2wd version for the small price difference!
I know they have issues with the highline displays on the clocks - problem with the pixels, so I 'd recommend a car with this issue sorted out.

Oh right, 225 only in 4WD, didn't know that.
Does the 4WD have any issues? I guess audi should be experts in it by now

Check out www.ttforum.co.uk

Absolutely everything you will ever need to know about the MK1 TT

As previously mentioned I would go for the 225 version as the 3.2cc can be pretty juicy.

Love those cars but I wasn't allowed to get one as I couldn't fit the 3 kids in it.  :signLOL:
