Rough idle and flashing EML
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:24:47 pm »
A few months back I got the EML come on with the P0441 code. I bit of searching on here led me to the carbon cannister. Plan on changing just haven't had the time. Recently though the cars been idling quite rough and the EML flashes but as soon as I start driving the light stop flashing and just stays a solid Amber. Are these related or is it possibly a PCV fault? Possibly just plugs?
Any help would me massively appreciated.  :notworthy:

have you managed to scan the car again once the EML light stays amber? is it the same fault as last time or a new/different fault?

I have one of these, only basic but good enough to scan and get the vag code, take this code with you onto Ross Tech site and your away.

Il have to invest in one of those mate.

Anyways, wife had the car yesterday day and the oil light came on with SSTOP car immediately - low oil pressure, so cars with garage.Oil levels were low at the side of the road (oil serviced less than 1k ago) but didn't take much to fill. Cars got a missfire on cylinder 1, hence the rough idle and flashing EML, changed coil packs and plugs but no difference. Hoping it's just a but of carbon build up and a little carb cleaner solves it or a new injector. Probably blank the PCV at the same time. Anyone used this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-MK5-Audi-A3-8P-Skoda-VRS-Seat-Leon-Cupra-R-Revamp-Delete-2-0-TFSI-AL0042-/151586994204?

Or best to stick with the GaRage midnight one?

You should try resetting your ECU mate, that might sort the misfire out... Process of elimination
