Wing Mirror Glass
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:39:20 pm »
Just been quoted over £50 for the glass for my N/S wing mirror. Is there any difference between ebay £10 glass and the VW glass?

I noticed tother week while thumbing through the manual that some side mirrors are auto dimming like the rear view mirror. Could the dearer price be for the dimmable unit?

Just a thought  :)

Euro car parts do a clip on replacement which is exactly the same as a vag unit for under £20. As long as yours isn't a self dimming one! I've just replaced both on the Mrs car. Just make sure you apply even pressure when fitting as they're easy to crack!

My drivers side mirror glass has gone all misty and needs replacing.  Unfortunately it is an auto dimming one!  I won't be replacing it with another one for £200!!  Put my reg number in euro car parts and it comes up with OE quality replacement glass for £23.40, part number 1K0857522H/Q.  Is this the right part number to fit the MK5 gti?
Thanks.....
