Front pads and discs universal on all Ed 30's and GTi's?
« on: March 02, 2015, 12:33:55 pm »
I'm trying to get front discs and pads and I've seen conflicting info on wether the different caliper makes require different pads.
Is this the case or will any any pad for the mk5 GTi be fine?
Thanks

I think there are 2 pad availabe.
I can't remember which one... one has hooks.

Just get PAGID ones unless you are driving hard or tuned.

Thanks for the reply, I'm hoping to do my first track day in May but want to stick with stock calipers.

I've heard good things about the Brembo HP sport pads so was going to give them a try.

Haha thanks, I'll probably be changing car early next year so not wanting to throw £500 on some new calipers. When I cook them at castle Combe I'll probably change my mind.

Dang.... those are the last pads I would have chosen for track.

Pagid RS29 is where my money would go on stock discs/calipers.

Cheers for the input Rich, what price are RS29 for the fronts? I've seen rears at over £200.
It'll be my first track day in May so I'm not going to be that heavy on brakes.
