I wonder who owns the rights to Top Gear, if it's the production company they may well just sell the show to another channel. IIRC it's one of the highest earning shows for the Beeb.

Agree with you there! They must be mad - and to entirely cancel this weekends edition when most of it is pre-recorded hints at a producer being as childish and stubborn as Clarkson famously is...! Sounds like a battle of wills (or should that be egos!) to me...

I know Clarkson has lots of shares in the Top Gear 'brand' as it were.

I very much doubt the BBC would let their most successful TV show go, but maybe JC and co are getting a bit annoying with all this..

Wasn't he given a 'final warning' a few months back? Interesting to see what they do..

Clarkson and Andy Wilman owned 50% through their production company but sold it to the BBC in 2012 and I think Clarkson made about £14m (if you believe the papers). So it's now all owned by the BBC.

Last time Clarkson left TG in the late 90's the viewing figures halved and then it got cancelled.

It wasn't Wilman, it was an assistant producer but he had to have provoked clarkson in some way

They're saying the next 2 episodes cancelled, and a third episode is unlikely. What the hell am I going to do 8-9pm on Sunday evening now?! Selfish..
