just got a 2007gti!
« on: March 17, 2015, 10:14:08 pm »
hi all, just got a 2007 gti. love it! when I got it the drivers rear speakers were not working and it had 01044 error. then the battery went flat.
I found a bad connection behind the radio and ive recoded to the radio with vagcom to include ipod and all faults are now clear. hoping now the battery will keep charge.
now I want to fit a pioneer avh-x3500dab. will this cause the 01044 to re appear? do I need to wire in a live and switched live straight from the fuse box to avoid the canbus to avoid battery drain?
don't want battery drain issues again.

I wired my pionner dab double din live wire to the drivers heater control  (think it was black wire) works off ignition and had no problems with the battery

yes I have a switched live already which I can pinch from the parrot kit. Do I need to take a permanent live from the fuse box to avoid the canbus?

I used the permenant live off the original radio wires and it's been fine
