RNS510, mfsw and highline coding issues.......
« on: March 20, 2015, 05:17:31 am »
I've recently fitted an RNS510 but can't get the track up and down buttons working correctly

When I change the code in the navigation module to get them to work it stops the mfd displaying the compass direction in the top left hand corner of the screen.

Also I can't scroll through audio, set up, navigation menus etc even with the stalk buttons?

Any ideas as to what the coding should be?

My car is a 2005 gti dsg and I've fitted highline dash, old style mfsw with paddles and RNS510. I've also swapped the steering wheel controler to the 'ch' type.

Strangely though when I had a newer type mfsw without paddles all worked fine???

Did you have a GPS compass module before the RNS510?

The GPS compass module is seperate to the stereo. Probably rare for a mk5 to have it but if you do, it can interfere with the RNS510 until you deactivate/unplug it.

Post up a scan.

You probably have a later cluster that is intended for use with the newer MFSW buttons.

That cluster is the new button generation but should work ok.

Have you got a scan to post up?
