Help, engine keeps dying (update)
« on: January 07, 2015, 05:31:16 am »
I've done a search but no joy, my car starts and runs fine but whenever i drive it for anything over half a mile and then come to a stop the engine just stops and won't tickover and i have to keep re-starting it. Any ideas?

Where is the idle control valve located?

I don't believe the mk5 Golf has an idle control valve since it has an electronic throttle body.. I'm sure they're only used on cars with cable-operated throttles?

Regarding your car cutting out, it could be related to fuel starvation, then again it could be almost anything. You really need to get your car hooked up to a diagnostic system (Vagcom/VCDS for example) and see what fault codes it chucks out  :happy2:
