Read up on here regarding changing the headset and the associated battery drain problems re canbus etc.
Also read it affects car built before 2008.
Mine is a registered 2008 but of course very probably manufactured before this so how can i tell if its affected?

Appreciate any wire words

Check part number on VCDS scan mate. But if you have already  drain problem after radio swap so i think your car is affected. But check it with vcds first.
I have some gateways if you will need one.
