1st gear
« on: March 27, 2015, 06:30:16 pm »
I am finding it difficult to get my GTi into first gear from neutral - it is fine if I go from 2nd to 1st, even after a long run with the gearbox warm. And also, the gear leaver is rather sloppy in each gear - it feel's like the gearbox has done 200,000 miles and not 72,000. My previous car, a Volvo that had done 105,000, its gearbox was tight as a drum.

I guess there is some sort of linkage/bushes that may have worn?

Where Napoleons armies marched with horse and musket and Hitlers Reich crumbled in blood and rubble, the warriors of Armageddon do battle against the landscape of hell now indeed thrive the ARMOURERS

Thank you for the replies and the two options. I think I might go with the later, as at this moment I don't want to modify.
