the car is on standard wheels i dont know if the springs are worn it passed an mot before i got it im thinking about putting Eibach Sportline springs on it have you any good advice on these springs

Eibach are a top quality product, your safe with them.

I thought the standard GTi setup only allowed simple alignment...?

Early models have adjustable front toe and camber, later models have adjustable front/ rear toe and adjustable rear camber.

I'm in Edinburgh also and I've used clcm each time I had new suspension, wheels and was very happy they guy does a top job for a good price.

well my tyres wore evenly after going to the guy on my gti so i was happy with what he did plus everyone i know recomends them in edinburgh

Anybody now how much WiM charge at the mo for a full geometry check on the MKV?  They recommend a centre nearer me on the website, but I fancy a road trip!

IMO thats quite a lot for a basic factory setting alignment.

Yes... IMO. I take mine to TTS Roadsport and they charge £69, takes them under an hour to do.

Having said that WIM are very good, and I get my tyres fitted by them.
