Fuel Pressure Regulation Fault After Cam Follower Change
« on: March 28, 2015, 07:43:23 pm »
Ok so I changed my cam follower in my 2005 GTi about a month ago, today I ran a diagnostics on it and it's brought up a Fuel Pressure Regulation fault.

004195 - Fuel Pressure Regulation
               P1063 - 002 - Control Range Not Reached - Intermittent
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00100010
                    Fault Priority: 0
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 255
                    Mileage: 126177 km
                    Time Indication: 0
                    Date: 2000.00.00
                    Time: 10:54:50

This looks to have been thrown up after the follower change, I'm not getting any other symptoms or problems. just worried that somethings not right?  :scared:

Try clearing the fault and re-scan the car after a drive.
Without traction power is nothing!

yh took it for a drive earlier as was doing live data logging and did a rescan after and it hasn't thrown it back up. Is there normally a time limit of when it shows it back up or would it be straight away?

I'm thinking that you depressurised the fuel rail to change the  cam follower. When you restarted the engine, the pressure in the system was zero bar and that flagged the error.

I would rescan after about 50 miles but my gut feeling is the error won't reappear if it wasn't present before you changed your cam follower.
