Custom MFSW button assignments?

Custom MFSW button assignments? I wonder if it would be possible? Any nerds on here good with programming? Would be good to get more functionality for cheap. A google search has revealed this Mini owner who has managed to do it with arduino. http://www.clubscmm.com/board/index.php?topic=5691.0

I could probably work something out if I spent enough time on it, back when I had my Mk4 I planned on fitting the Mk5 wheel and getting the buttons working.

The Mk5 though has pretty decent controls as standard, anything in particular you would like to control?
