Bulb replacement
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:25:18 am »
I got the bulb light on my dash this AM. It's not my headlights - could see the reflection in a car bumper so I'm pretty sure its one of the rear lights. I'll check at lunch, but I also need to buy the replacement at lunch - so won't have time to wait for replies etc.

Can I just get a replacement from Halfords and then fit myself?

There's also a chance it was just a temporary glitch. Light can come on and go off and the bulb was fine.

Turn off the ignition. Wait a minute and start again. My highline clocks will tell me which bulb was out. To memory it was my left rear indicator but the light went off and it was fine ever since.

You can just go to Halfords and fit a new bulb yes.

It stayed on, got my mate at work to check and he thinks (not 100% because it was so sunny) that it is the rear brake light.

Ive got the replacement bulb - now just need to work out how to fit it!!

Open boot.
Pull back side wall carpet.
Undo 2 nuts I think M10 maybe. Could do with a leatherman even if they're not tight.
Disconnect plugs.
Take entire light fitting off.
Replace bulb.
Reinstall.

Do it in 2mins before you even hit the road!
