Hey matey car is coming along really well looks very fresh and the monzas really set it off. Thinking about changing my vacuum pump as it weeps, was it an easy job to do and you wouldnt have the new part number handy would you. Cheers

Changing the vacuum pump, wasn't too bad to do. The only tips I would give, is not to over tighten the bolts and make sure the plastic bracket that holds a loom, goes back the right side of the bottom bolt! If you don't it will leak all over again, like mine did! 

I don't have the part number, but this is the part I bought from eBay. The genuine one from TPS was nearly £100 more

Yes, I am considering some projector headlights, but it will probably after Xmas. It will all depend on if I keep the car or not in the new year.

I have a George pneumatic wet & dry vacuum,( like the Henry) great bit of kit, nice and powerful.  Having said that, that's not how I get the stripes in the mats haha!

After vacuuming, use your carpet shampoo to scrub the mats with your interior brush, then once clean, dry off as much as you can, then with the brush drag the pile one way, then go the opposite way to create the stripes. The stripes will be the width of whatever brush you are using.

You can get even better stripes using the wet vax too.  They look impressive but are relatively easy to do

It's been a while since I've updated my thread, so I thought I would update it  

I've put my car back to standard, as I will be putting the Golf up for sale pretty soon. I've had great fun restoring the Golf, but it's time to move on......to the wife!! (She has just said she may want it!)

Here's how she stands now, after a good clean and sealed with Gtechniq C2v3

I must admit, it felt a bit strange putting the golf back to standard, but having said that, it still looks great 

The ED30 front splitter (£150 ono) and ED30 rear valance (£200 ono) are up for sale, if anyone is interested please PM me for details 

(I would put them on the for sale section, but I'm having problems uploading the photos!)

I'm looking at family sized cars, as we are selling the Octy VRS. I do like the A4 DTM, as it's rare....trying to find one in my budget though, is another story
