Highline Clock Queries
« on: April 03, 2015, 04:31:38 pm »
Folks, I know this has been covered to death and I have found a lot of answers in the previous threads, but I still have a few further questions which go unanswered.

My car is 07 and I have a MFSW with "new" buttons, so from what I gather 973 and 974 clocks are the ones to go for. But are 970, 971 or 972 ruled out completely? What are the differences with them?

It'll not be me doing them, but I've found somewhere local that can fit and code them. When buying a second hand set, do you need to get any info with them or will the place fitting them be able to extract whatever is required?

How do you tell from the part numbers whether it's a GTi or R32 set? What differences do the various letters at the end represent?

Like I say I've tried to search for the answers prior to starting a new thread, so apologies in advance if these queries have been covered.

Thanks for that.

Any idea if it's possible to tell the difference between R32 and GTi clocks from the part numbers?

What he said

Would have thought there would be a difference in part number, but don't know what it is.

Maybe Pm someone with an R32 and see if they can scan with VCDS and find out that way?

SI-R32 springs to mind, he's very helpful with info  :happy2:

Remind me what part number your midline was, and what the highline is?
