You must have taken the day off work to have time too order all that  :signLOL:

Nice list, let us know your thoughts on the crank pulley when fitted? I've been toying with this, would be good too hear your thoughts  :happy2:

Ahahahh

I already had the list somewhat sorted beforehand. I had the whole week to do the orders, fortunately, since most stores lowered the prices Monday, I think. I really struggled to decide if I would spend the extra money on the VWR intake right now, but I think the currency conversion won't be better for me in the future. Might as well get it cheaper when I can.

I'll get my car tested at the same dyno to see what difference the intake makes. I also want to test the difference with the octane booster. Not sure if I have the time to do all that. I'll keep the topic updated. :happy2:

I plan on using the new wheels and tyres next year on track days. After watching the first episode of The Grand Tour with the Holy Trinity in Portimão's track I really would like to try it myself. The track is about 200 miles away. Not cheap but feasible to do.

Decided to take a picture of one of the new wheels and tyres. I won't be needing them until February, when the 1st track day of next year should happen.

Only yesterday I got the dyno graphs from last July when I had the DSG tweaked. The tuner at the time increased the available clamping pressure, made the shifting faster, deactivated the kick down on Manual mode, deactivated the auto upshift on Manual mode after hiting the rev limiter and increased the rev limit to 7.000 rpm.

With an IAT of +35ºC, since the ambient temp was around 25ºC that night, the engine made the same top output as it did in January when was colder.

Today I got the parts that I recently bought fitted:
-Celtemp HPFP protection shield
-VW Racing intake for K04
-Custom painted TTS engine cover
-VW Racing adjustable front drop links
-Go Fast Bits lightweight crank pulley

I didn't take a picture of the GFB crank pulley but it's much lighter (1,4 kg) than the OEM part. It comes with 6 new bolts.

The included bolts had different sizes. One was too long and the other was the same size as the OEM bolt. So I kept the OEM bolts and I'll make a complaint to Celtemp. :fighting:

The closed cone bracket on the grill had to be trimmed a bit due to the larger IC so that the bolts could be screwed. Other than that all fitted nicely.

Final result! The engine bay is a bit black but it contrasts with the white car. I like it!

Both factory drop links were ruptured so it was a good call to get them replaced with better parts now.

So far I'm liking the new engine sound. It has a deeper roar a bit louder than before. It makes me want to boost the engine more often so the louder sound is exciting. :driver: It's quiet on normal driving which was also something I was looking for.

The engine seems to rev better on higher rpm and the butt dyno is happy with the new intake. I hope when I get the car dyno tested again the result is better too.

Like the look of the VWR Intake, I can imagine it offers the best of both worlds....Less restrictive then the OEM Airbox but still pretty quiet compared to an Open Air Intake :)

Pro Race 1.2's aswell  :happy2:

Sorry to Shoduchi for cluttering up his build thread, but yes - from experience, the VWR intake is very expensive, but it is just simply just the right amount of whoosh, chatter, and quietness.

Thank bonelorry! I'm quite happy with the new increased roar on full boost and quietness during normal driving. I can hear just a bit more the DV+ chatter but nothing that I'd consider annoying. Now I need to see what difference does it make on a dyno sheet but since my K04 is only making 1.4 bar of stable boost I'm not expecting a very big increase, really. I do hope there's some difference since the car pulls well.

The TD Pro Race 1.2 were the obvious choice since they cost me less than half of what the OZ did. They should clear the calipers even better too. :happy2:

You're not cluttering, you're just helping a fellow enthusiast adding your personal experience. :happy2:

I've heard stories of lighter crank pullies causing issues so be wary of that.

Glad you have made some nice small mods they look good :)

Only question is on the dyno chart what's the odd looking flat spot at 2500rpm?
