Sourced 2 aluminium front wishbones from a Passat (3C0407151G). To go with them ordered new S3/Passat ball joints and nuts. Lets see if I can get them fitted before the next track day in less than 2 weeks.
Also, had my old EBC Redstuff pads relined with Carbotech XP20 compound by Carbotech Europe (Carbotech part number for Brembo 17Z pads: CT1007). Ian from Carbotech is a pleasure to deal with. He told me that when he started sand blasting the pads he saw that they were yellow under the red paint. So despite being labelled as Redstuff he suspected that they started off as Yellowstuff and were repainted at EBC! He also said that it's quite common and sees it a lot. He guessed that it might be why some feel Redstuff are sometimes different from 1 set to the next.
Carbotech Compounds:
XP20™ - Temperature zone : 135°C to 1093°C
Another step up in the highly successful XP™ series of compounds. XP20™ is the replacement for the highly successful XP16™ compound. With an extremely aggressive initial bite, linear torque curve and excellent fade resistance the XP20™ is still favoured by many. XP20™ has a temperature range of 135°C to 1093°C+ and maintains our tradition of having the outstanding release and modulation that has made all other Carbotech™ compounds so successful. The XP20™ as with other Carbotech™ compounds is very rotor friendly. Carbotech™ XP20™ is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise
They're £280 + £30 (VAT not included).
